What did I do? Well… I didn’t really do a whole lot. Sounds like an eventful day! Well as you can see, I have changed a few things. First off, I upgraded the WordPress to the current version. Second, I searched around for new themes. Something that didn’t stick to the silly 640 or 800 width tables and Kai showed me the Mandigo theme. I’m also in the process of tagging all the posts from the beginning. Right now I am on page 5 of 16, but I went backwards. So I just have pages 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 left to tag. The links have been established and I’ll work on some banner/headers later as I mold this into what I want. I have noticed that a lot of the old posts will look stupid as hell with the larger resolution. I don’t plan to fix those old posts, so I’m sorry if anyone actually wants to go backtrack and read up on old stuff. Totally updating wordpress right now. Sit tight! Well apparently I didn’t know that my entire site was down for a day or two. I only became aware of it when I was unable to access a picture from a directory. Things are all good now since you are able to read this and I am able to post this. Unknown to me was Dreamhost updating the Apache to 2.0whatever from 1.3. Somehow it borked the htaccess file. It’s all good now! So as I type this, my Q is breaking down slowly. At least it is under warranty still, so free repair!
It did run kind of long, only two hours and thirty some minutes but well worth the time spent. This movie is well worth the $12 I spent on it. A few day’s rest and I’m good as new! Finally getting back to normal after a weekend of fun. I came away with quite the number of goodies. As for the convention itself, in my opinion it was a great success. Only one massive boo-boo that I heard about throughout the entire con. The shuttles were excellent, LAPD presence was great, LACC staff were stellar, Nokia Theater is awesome. The only thing lacking from the LACC is location of close restaurants and hotels. Only the Holiday Inn and Hotel Figueroa were in “walking distance” to the venue, not including the Stillwell and Ritz-Milner for obvious reasons. As for food.. well get ready to walk! Up between 9th and 8th on Figueroa is a Denny’s, on the corners of 8th and Flower is a 24 hour IHOP and Subway. Up the street a little more is 7th & Fig, a little shopping mall. It’s pretty good except for the fact that it shuts down at 7pm. AX09 is going to take place at the LACC as well. Hopefully the anime industry recovers by then and some more of the LA Live project finishes up. It’s so early! I haven’t woken up this early in a long time. Just checking on some stuff, then I gotta finalize my luggage and head off to the airport! I’ll post again from Chicago later If you live in Southern California, then you damn well know it has been hot for the past few days. If you have ever been to my house, then you really have experienced the heat. The moment you step inside, it feels ten degrees hotter than it is outside. Normally on hot days like that, I mill around doing nothing but sweating my ass off and bitching about the heat. This time around I didn’t because of a computer heat issue. Something was bugging me because my computer would randomly lockup overnight. It’s not normal for my computer to lockup without any interaction from me, so I looked into it and found out that my shit was overheating. Yeah, that’s right. Look at the CPU temperature. 76ºC. All the Q6600 core temps were too damn high. Something was definitely wrong here. Upon the discovery of the overheating problem, I promptly shut everything down. I headed off to Fry’s in search for a new case with lots of airflow and picked up the Antec Nine Hundered. It’s finally here, the first volume of Lucky Star. I didn’t get a chance to watch it dubbed last night, but I will do so tonight. This will be a blast ! |
